About Dr. Cashio
Dr. Richard Cashio is Flagler County’s only board certified plastic surgeon and currently serves as the Chief of Surgery for AdentHealth Palm Coast’s medical executive committee. He has served the community for more than 15 years and feels honored to have the privilege to help his patients meet their personal goals.
Dr. Cashio began his journey in medicine at Louisiana State University, where he earned a double major in biochemistry and microbiology, as well as his medical degree. On his first visit to the operating room, he knew that he had found his calling.
After medical school, Dr. Cashio left his roots in Louisiana to complete his residency in general surgery at the University of Florida at Jacksonville. Cosmetic surgery piqued his interest because he found it challenging—even the most minute change can have a significant impact.
Dr. Cashio furthered his training with a fellowship in Plastics and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. While there, he performed more than 1,300 procedures. He also realized the enormous responsibility and honor placed upon him as a plastic surgeon.
After his fellowship, a teacher and mentor from the University of Florida at Jacksonville encouraged Dr. Cashio to return to the coastal, Northern Florida area. In 2007, he opened his practice in Palm Coast.
As a patient, it should be your first priority to check a physician’s credentials before undergoing any procedure. Any individual can claim to be a doctor, cosmetic surgeon or plastic surgeon, so it is important to verify a physician’s credentials, to ensure training and certification is appropriate to a planned procedure.
Dr. Cashio is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. In addition, he is an active member of The American Society of Plastic Surgeons and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He also serves on the AdventHealth Palm Coast medical executive committee and has been voted the Best Plastic Surgeon in Flagler County through the Daytona Beach News Journal’s Reader’s Choice awards.
